Meindl Bernina 2 is a boot in waxed nubuck leather and extra rubber coating around the boot to better withstand blows and bumps in the terrain. It is suitable for those with a slightly wider foot as it belongs to the Comfort Fit® series, which means more space in the front part of the boot, both in width and height.
Bernina 2 also has MFS® technology – Memory Foam System – which is a foam in the heel area that molds to your foot with the help of body heat and provides a perfect individual fit.

We recommend that boots are about 10 mm longer than your foot length to make room for e.g. extra socks or insoles and because your feet swell slightly during a day's hiking.

To achieve optimal climate comfort, it is really important to choose the best sock for the intended use.
Look for the right material mix: 100% cotton absorbs a lot of moisture and only releases it very slowly. The moisture will remain next to your feet and your feet will start to feel cold. That's why a mix of high-quality wool (e.g. Merino) and synthetic fibers (e.g. polyester, polyamide) is best.
